The Miracle on the Guadalupe

 In 1950, nearly 1,000 volunteers came together to build Louise Hays Park in a single day, an extraordinary effort that became known as the “Miracle on the Guadalupe.” Today, that same spirit of community lives on through Boots on the Banks, an ongoing initiative to clean, restore, and protect the Guadalupe River and its riparian corridor. Through volunteer cleanups, restoration projects, and stewardship, we’re working together to care for the river and the shared spaces that make our community home.
